The University of Sheffield's Frequently Asked Questions database

Question:

A serious incident involving one of my personal tutees has been brought to my attention I have heard of the University´s Discipline Committee but I am not sure what its role is - who should I contact for advice?

Answer:

Among the Regulations to which students sign up at initial registration is a set of Regulations as to the Discipline of Students. These define `misconduct´ for the purposes of the Regulations and also set out in what circumstances the Discipline Committee (of the Senate) might become involved.

Individual cases will vary considerably in their scope and in the possible action to be taken. The Regulations may be found via the Calendar website. Any member of University staff may obtain guidance from the Secretary to the Discipline Committee, Liz Buckton, on extension 21290 or email
