How do I apply for a Leave of Absence?
Leave of Absence is a period when your studies are suspended and you are absent from the University by agreement. Students wishing to apply for a period of leave of absence at any time during the session, should first discuss their intentions with their personal tutor/ supervisor/other staff in the department or staff in Student Services. To apply for leave, it will be necessary to obtain a Change of Status Form from their department, SSiD or from the "On-line Forms" facility on the SSiD Web page, follow the instructions on the leaflet which accompanies the form and return it, completed, to SSiD. Research Students who wish to apply for leave of absence should make a case in writing to the Faculty representative in the Graduate Research office after consultation with their supervisor.
