The University of Sheffield's Frequently Asked Questions database

Question:

In what circumstances might disciplinary action be taken against me?

Answer:

Any member of the University who becomes aware of misconduct by a student can report the matter to Student Services. The University´s Discipline Regulations define misconduct under a variety of headings which include disorderly behaviour and the use of any unfair means in examinations of the University (for example plagiarism, cheating in exams or collusion). If the circumstances merit it, the University may decide to take disciplinary action against a student and refer them to the Discipline Committee. A student has the right of appeal against any decisions of the Discipline Committee.
